Gentlemen of the Press,
Let me, on behall of members of the State Working Committee (SWC) APC,
Nasarawa State begin ths beriefing by conmending the National Secretariat
of our Groat Party for setting the machinery in motion for the conduct of the party’s primaries across the countiy, in preparation for the forthooming 2023 General Elections. For us in Nasarawa State, we are not surprise with the effective way and manner the National Secetariat has been going about steering the APC to participate in the impending election.
As a matter of fact we expect nothing les from the National Secretariat,
because the man at the helm of affairs is no other person than Senator
Abdullahi Adamu (Turakin Keffi), notable statesman of very high
pedigree. It is common knowledge that the emergence of Senator Abdullahi Abdullahi as the National Chaiman was greeted with popular
acclamation most especially by teenming members of the party across the country, as well as other patriotic Nigerians who are desirous of an enduring democracy for our dear country. We are proud of our National
Chairmarn, not only because he hails from Nasarawa State, but more so
because what infomed, and aided his emergence is his versatile experience in party administration and governance, qualities which every Nigerians knows.
Gentlemen men of the Press, nonetheless, our party in Nasarawa State saddened the discovery that the offical and authentic list of delegates
Sent to National Secretariat for the party’s primares has beern completely
changed or doctored in a number of Local Government areas of the state.
we are also saddened that the National Secretariat has truncated the
conduct o the prinaries by directing the Congress Committee to stop the
pimaries midway. We find this inexplicable. In the light of the above
unfortunale developrent, the APC Nasarawa state wish to hereby state it’s position as follows:
å That we will not tolerate this unwarranted doctoring of the official
delegates list sent to the National Secretariat.
å We consider this as
undemocratic, and that it is capable of breeding disaffection, tension and
disunity in the party. Therefore the party will not accept any list outside of congresses conducted in the state.
å The National Secretariat should
therefore in the interest of peace, unity, harmony and progress of the party ensure that the wishes of our law abiding and loyal party members are
respected
åAPC Nasarawa State should not be made to lose its status and
prestige as a model, as well as the Political Laboratory of Mr. President, His Exoellency, Muhammadu Bulhari, GCFR
On this note, the party wish to call on relevant party organs and our
esteemed members and supporters to remain calm as necessary steps are
been taken towards addressing the matter.
