The Lawmaker Rededicates Birthday to Constituents and the Less-Privileged.
Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs and Member representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency at the National Assembly,Rt.Hon.(Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub,has again re-iterated his resolve to continue to use whatever he is or has acquired in life for the benefits of the people of his Constituency and the generality of the less-privileged people of the world in the remaining years of his earthly sojourn.
Rt.Hon.Buba,who revealed the above during an early morning prayer today in his Abuja home, re-stated the commitment he made some years ago,as part of events marking that year’s birthday celebration,to totally continue to commit himself to very quiet moments on the occasions of his birthdays until such a time peace returns to Nigeria. He said it was in line with that commitment and the current mood of the nation that he was again quietly observing the day. He,however, expressed belief that with prayers and joint efforts of all the suffering part of humanity undergoing one form of pain or another across theatres of conflict in the Northeast Zone and the nation as a whole,who have been forced to suffer for so long for no faults of theirs, would soon acquire better lives than they currently have as Nigerians.
He said the growing security threat to lives and property in all parts of Nigeria today was such that,even with the huge efforts Government was making in providing the needed resources and personnel to fight insecurity,Nigerians are still daily falling to the attacks of the heartless purveyors of sorrow, who,he said, have sworn that the nation will not live in peace. He called on the people to continue to partner the Governments at both the Federal and State levels in order to ensure that the ugly menace of insecurity is permanently and decisively routed, stressing that information-provision by the people in the ongoing campaign against terror was key to definite success on the part of the troops currently operating on several fronts across the country.
While re-iterating his popular position that evil will,ultimately,bow to good no matter how dim the present circumstances may appear,the Adamawa-born former realtor and entrepreneur urged country men and women to daily spare a thought for members of the Armed Forces of the country and their families ,who live in crushing anxiety each day and commit themselves to the laborious search for the highly elusive peace.
The lawmaker,also used the occasion to appreciate members of Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency,his colleagues at the National Assembly and, indeed,his family members as well as friends and Party men and women for standing by him and offering him support since he first got elected to the House of Representatives in 2015. He ,again, urged them to support him and the candidates of the APC at all levels, saying the Party’s current experience garnered from the last seven years through which their members have been in power and the commitment of expected fresh ideas that would soon be injected into the nation’s governance mechanism in the next few months were all that the nation requires to move forward, adding that the leaders have identified the best approaches to success in the challenges of governance before them.
Rt.Hon.Buba finally used the occasion to applaud the unity, understanding and friendship that currently exist at the different levels of the APC in Adamawa State, stressing that with such commitment to the promotion of collective goals in the Party in the State,the 2023 general elections have rather become a foregone conclusion for the APC even before the first ballot is cast.
