The Ebonyi State gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, has assured the youths of Ebonyi State that his administration after the general elections, would focus on job creation and youths empowerment.
Nwifuru, who disclosed this during a town hall meeting of over five thousand youths drawn from the fifteen wards of Ohaukwu local government area, called on the youths not be distracted by the opposition and rumour mongers.
Represented by the member representing Ohaukwu South Constituency, Hon. Onah Chinedu, the governor hopeful appreciated the efforts of the APC youths to deliver all its candidates in the forth coming general elections.
“I am aware that you people are working for me to enable us win the forthcoming election. You should discard rumour mongers and those who are in the opposition.
“The incoming governor said he would focus on rural roads, youths empowerment and job creation”, he said.
Delivering a keynote address, the Director of Youths in the Directorate of 2023 Divine Mandate campaign of continuity and consolidation, Prince Uche Ali Ega, said the essence of the town hall meeting was to galvanize total support and mobilization from booths, wards and local government area.
“These are wonderful youths of Ohaukwu local government area drawn from the three zones of Ohaukwu, Ngbo, Effium and Ezzangbo. There are over five thousand of them. We encourage them to sensitize the people on PVC collection.
“We requested from them total support of mobilization and campaign, door to door campaign, booth , ward and local government.
“We charged them to be well behaved in the campaign proper and electioneering process as we get close to the kick off off”, Ega said.
While charging the youths to vote for all the contestants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Hon. Sunday Elechi Inyima, Ebonyi State Commissioner for Water Resources and Secretary Ohaukwu LGA APC campaign Council, described the town hall meeting as first of its kind.
“I agree with those who said that this sensitization is the first of its kind. I want to commend the youths body for organizing this unique town hall meeting. We re going to support all the contestants to win their elections at all levels.
“The youths should endeavor to be vote for the senator, house of representatives, governor and house of assembly candidates” Inyima appealed.
Earlier in an opening remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ohaukwu local government area, Prince Ikechukwu Odono, maintained that with the massive support from the youths constituency, all APC candidates would win the election.
He further appealed to the youths to ensure they collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards to enable them vote for their preffered candidates.
The town hall meeting it was learned was organized by youth bodies which include Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru Youth Organization (FON), Onwa Oferekpe Youth Organization and the All Progressives Congress(APC) youth group.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion include, Chairman of Ohaukwu local government area, Hon. Prince Ikechukwu Odono, Hon. Princess Chinyere Elom, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu, Hon . Mrs Esther Agwu among others.
