Former Super Eagles of Nigeria captain, Mikel Obi has disclosed that he was offered performance-enhancing drugs at Chelsea.
He made this revelation after Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk failed a drugs test on Tuesday this week and was provisionally suspended by the Football Association.
Following the suspension, the Ukraine international released a statement shortly after the news emerged, where he claimed he had “not done anything wrong.”.
Reacting to this development, the former Chelsea star told Obi One Podcast that Mudryk is innocent until proven guilty.
“For him (Mudryk) and his family, I hope he is innocent. I remember when we were playing, if someone was offering me something, I would ask you what it was”, Mikel said on the Obi One podcast.
“I’m responsible for what I put in my body, what I eat, and stuff like that. People around will offer you stuff—friends, friends of friends—they will tell you that this will give you this or it will give you one or two more percent in your performances, and I’m like, What is this? Is this legal?
“I tell them to go away; I don’t want to talk about it. We have to take responsibility for our actions and what we eat. But for now, Mudryk is innocent until proven guilty
