Ghanaians demand arrest of Chef Smith over Guinness World Record scam, despite his public apology

Ghanaians have launched a passionate call for the arrest of self-acclaimed Chef Ebenezer Smith following his recent Guinness World Record scam.

The outcry comes after it was revealed that Chef Smith’s claim to have broken the record for the longest cooking marathon was fraudulent.

Many citizens, expressing their outrage on social media, believe Chef Smith should face legal consequences for deceiving the nation.

The chef, who held a press conference on June 2, 2024, announced that he had been approved by Guinness World Records for his cooking marathon achievement.

However, it was later discovered that his claim and the press conference were a complete hoax.

Notable personalities, including entertainment pundits Socrates Sarfo and Vida Adutwumwaa, have joined the chorus calling for Chef Smith’s arrest.

They argue that his actions have defrauded the entire nation and damaged its reputation.

Despite Chef Smith’s public apology, where he expressed remorse for the deception, many feel that an apology is insufficient.

Vida Adutwumwaa, among others, argues that Smith’s actions warrant legal consequences to serve as a deterrent to others.
