Appreciate the gift of being Nigerian, Kizz Daniel tells fans

Kizz Daniel, the Nigerian singer, has taken to social media to advise his fellow countrypeople to appreciate God’s blessings.

In a now-deleted post on X, the ‘Buga’ hitmaker encouraged Nigerians to reflect on their lives and be hopeful despite their challenges.

Daniel, 30, reminded his fans that the difficulties experienced in Nigeria are a defining moment for the country’s prosperous future.

The songwriter also likened the nation’s challenges to the process of diamond formation, adding that “it might seem rough, but guess where diamonds come from? The rough”.

“Take a second to appreciate what God has done for you; making you a Nigerian,” he wrote.

“He gave you a time before the actual time, cus Naija is ahead of time. It might seem like the rough, but guess where diamonds come from? The rough.”

Born Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, Daniel rose to fame in 2015 with his hit single ‘Woju’ and has become a prominent figure in the Nigerian music industry.

He signed a record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013 but left the label following a contract dispute and court case.

Kizz Daniel then floated Flyboy Inc, his record label, in November 2017, but stepped down as the CEO.

He signed Emperor Geezy, his ex-label boss, as Flyboy Inc head honcho.

Last year, Daniel opened up about his ethnic identity, revealing he is half Yorùbá and half Fulani.

The revelation sparked a conversation about identity and cultural heritage in Nigeria.
