The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has today expressed their concern over an Uncovered plan of some persons in the APC presidential campaign council to unleash attack on their candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo and warns that any attempts at intimidating its Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections will fail.
SDP Campaign Council Director General, Barrister Solomon Dalung make the revelation at a world press briefing held in Abuja on Friday November 25, 2022.
He lamented that they have uncovered and perused a documents which he said contains orchestration by the men of the APC Presidential Campaign Council to unjustly unleash the police to intimidating and harassing the SDP presidential Candidate through fake records of alleged criminal issues.
The Director General, Barrister Dalung who describes the SDP presidential candidate as a prince of Ondo Kingdom with impeccable character whose family integrity and impeccable character has transited from third to fourth generation add that the Ondo born prince has traveled and lived in different countries across the globe for businesses and counted worthy with testimonies of impeccable character stands tall amongst all other candidates in the 2023 election.
He further warned that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) which has turned their campaign rally to comedy should not in its desperation, truncate the 2023 democratic transition. A transition he describes as crucial and very important to Nigerians in our nationhood and democratic experiences.
He therefore, urged Nigerians to elect credible candidates in 2023 election, stressing that the SDP presidential candidate has presented more practical steps to solving the challenges bedeviling the nation, a practical steps he boast of bringing back security, prosperity and progress to the country.
Dalung while expressing reservations over some of the issues that are plaguing campaigns ahead of the 2023 polls, lamented that instead of the ruling party APC to engage Nigerians on issue based campaign has made their campaign rally a comedy ground and resorting to violet to ahead of the 2023 election.
“It calls to question, the violent level that characterised the campaigns,” he added.
He decried the flagrant use of government paraphernalia for campaign for the APC candidates, therefore, narrowing the space of other contenders.
Dalung said that the use of government aircraft for campaign of the APC Presidential candidate is an abuse of power, adding that if such assets are provided for one candidate, same treatment should be accorded others.
Dalung charged Presidential candidates of all political parties to embrace issue based campaigns, focusing on issues like security, poverty and those that are not in power should tell Nigerians what they will do.
On SDP campaign trend, he explained that the party has been moving from one place to another, responsibly canvassing for the support and votes of Nigerians.
